In 1987 she graduated with honors in Development Economics from the Gregorian University in Rome.
She began her professional career in 1988 in Export Finance at a leading Italian industrial engineering firm and from 1991 to 2000 she worked in the banking-finance sector dealing with asset management and structured finance, at Lehman Brothers as Portfolio Analyst in Mexico City, at Smith Barney as Fund Manager in New York and at Mediocredito Centrale as Vice President Project Finance in Rome.
She was a Consultant of the Financial Services Practice in Spencer Stuart Italy, from 2000 to 2008, managing research, selection and assessment projects also for industrial clients. 
She then held managerial roles, first in BBVA Finanza Italia as HR Director (2010 to 2012) and then in Fincantieri S.p.A. (2012 to 2016) where she was Head of Talent Acquisition. She has been a Board Member of two Italian subsidiaries.   
From 2016 to 2023 she worked in doValue S.p.A. in the role of Chief People Officer Italy dealing also with extraordinary operations (banking group establishment, stock exchange listing, debanking and acquisitions abroad) and transformation and change management projects. She has been a board member of one of the Italian subsidiaries.
